Malveno’s Ring is a Key Item within Metaphor: ReFantazio and can unlock key features in the major portion of this game. It is often required for progressing through certain quests or challenges. The ring can also be located through a side quest called “A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake,” that will be asking players to obtain it from the Abandoned Tomb.
How to Start: A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake Quest
In Martira on June 29th, you can find a suspicious man in Thoroughfare Square. If you talk to him, he’ll trick you into losing Grius’ Dagger. After that, you can talk to Cuculus, who will ask you to help him find Malveno’s Ring from the Abandoned Tomb in exchange for his help.
To start this quest, you need to have Imagination Rank 2. You can increase your Imagination by listening to stories from the Chatty Elder in Grand Trad or by reading the New World Travel Diary on your bookshelf in the Gauntlet Runner.
Go to the inn in Martira and buy the “Prize of the Abandoned Tomb” information. This will give you some tips on how to complete the Abandoned Tomb dungeon.
How to Get Malveno’s Ring
Malveno’s Ring is behind a secret wall near the entrance to the dungeon. You need a key to open the wall, and this key is inside a giant chest that will attack you at the end of the dungeon, right before the only place you can save your game. Go all the way to the north end of the dungeon to find a giant chest. This chest will turn into a boss called Trove Imitec.
How to Defeat Trove Imitec
Trove Imitec is a tough boss that’s level 32. It’s especially difficult if you’re not level 32 yet. The boss attacks twice each turn. Like other bosses in the dungeon, it’s weak against Light Skill moves. The Merchant’s Gold Attack is very effective against it and costs 500 Reeve. If you use this attack every turn, the boss will be distracted by the money and won’t attack as often.
Here are some tips for defeating Trove Imitec:
- Use Hama or Igniter with Mage Light: These skills will exploit the boss’s weakness to Light and give you extra turns.
- Use a Brawler: Brawlers are resistant to all of the boss’s physical attacks, so they’re a good choice for your party.
- Cure Sleep: The boss has a sleep attack that can be dangerous. You need to cure it quickly, because sleeping targets will take extra damage and the boss will get another turn.
Completing the Quest
After you defeat Trove Imitec, you’ll get a key that opens some locked doors. The door you need is near the entrance, right next to the first person you met. Go inside and open the chest to find Malveno’s Ring. Now, go back to town and give the ring to the man you met on the next day. This will take some time, so be prepared. This will finish the quest.
