There are a few quests you can pick up as you continue your storyline in Black Myth Wukong. You will encounter certain NPCs who require some assistance, and it is up to you to help them out. First, make your way to Fright Cliff > Rockrest Flat in Chapter 2. From the shrine, turn around 180 and head inside the cave, then immediately turn right from the cave entrance and travel through the path lit up by torches. Keep going down this path which will start turning to the left, and at the end of the path you will spot a glowing boulder with three lit up spots on it. This boulder is the Mother of Stones, and is actually a unique boss. Keep hitting the Mother of Stones and you will spot random stone enemies spawning nearby.
Kill the stone enemies and continue to hit the boulder. More stone enemies will show up, so kill them and repeat the steps above. Eventually, you can destroy the Mother of Stones and gather the Stone Essence item, which is required to complete the Man in Stone quest
Man in Stone Location
Now, head over to Fright Cliff > Squall Hideout and go around behind the shrine by heading to the right side of the shrine and follow the path around it. Head into the ravine and continue to follow the path and go under the stone bridge and keep heading straight. Once you reach the end of the path, you will find the Man in Stone. Interact with the man and hand over the Stone Essence, which will trigger a boss fight. Defeat the man in stone and head back to the nearest keeper’s shrine to rest. Follow back down this path to where you met the man in stone, and he will now be available as a merchant.
