To get Umbral Scouring, you need to defeat bosses and certain enemies to get them as drops. There are several bosses in the game, but by defeating the 10 main bosses you can obtain Umbral Scouring. The bosses you need to beat are listed below.
- The Lightreaper
- The Congregator of Flesh
- The Hushed Saint
- Harrower Delva & The Unbroken Promise
- Spurned Progeny
- The Hollow Crow
- Tancred & Reinhold the Immured
- Judge Cleric, the Radiant Sentinel
- The Sundered Monarch
After they are defeated, they will leave a Stigma behind. Stick around after the fight to find a strange apparition of their soul lying around. If you use Soulflay on the apparition, it will show you a bit more about the lore surrounding the boss and the area. At the end of it you will get Umbral Scouring drops.
Another way to get Umbral Scouring is to defeat Scarlet Shadows. You can find these beings while exploring the Umbral realm, and you will be notified of their approach when your screen blinks red. They are extremely difficult to beat, but once you do, you can collect Umbral Scouring.
