Chapter 20, Resurrection, is likely one of the richest treasure-holding missions in DOOM: The Dark Ages, with more loot and hidden secrets than any individual chapter in the game. A lot of the level takes place within the dense and chaotic Darkveil Forest, where your main objective is to repel Ahrzak’s incessant hordes and obliterate three gigantic siege towers that are battering on the Sentinel fortress.
After you have blown up all three towers, your dragon will swoop down from the sky to pick you up, marking a point of no return. Before you get on, however, it’s highly recommended that you turn back and explore the forest one last time if you’re going for 100% completion.
All that aside, most players are stuck on a confusing roadblock here. Even after a thorough sweep, they still have one missing secret and one collectable.
Location of the Last Collectible in Resurrection
If you only have one missing secret and one collectable remaining, don’t worry—you haven’t missed anything in the forest. The last items are indeed located after the dragon ride. Go ahead and ride the Slayer’s dragon and proceed with the quest as usual. Upon the cutscene, you’ll be dropped on Bishop Kreed’s enormous warship and have control of the Slayer again.
Instead of proceeding into the ship, turn around and go back past the dragon, through the clear to the rear of the ship. Hidden away in the very back is a little secret alcove—a little hard to notice if you’re travelling too quickly. In this hidden section, you’ll find the final codex entry for Commander Valen and unlock the final hidden section that needs to be finished. Once you’ve picked it up, you’ll have every secret and collectable in Chapter 20: Resurrection.
