After clearing out the abandoned mansion of all intruders, you can talk to Ghost, the mansion’s butler. He will tell you about a treasure kept aside for his master, Mr. Ditch. He will seek your help in finding Mr. Ditch, but it has been more than 10 years since his return. You can lie to Ghost and tell him that Mr. Ditch is dead, ending the Haunted Mansion mission. Or you can help him and try to locate his owner. Regardless of what you decide, you can still find Mr. Ditch.
There aren’t many clues about his whereabouts, so its a bit of trouble finding him. To locate Mr. Ditch, head to Sector L12’s Great Forest. As you proceed, you will find Legion soldiers huddled around a frail old man. The hermit in question is Mr. Ditch, but you need to get rid of the soldiers around him first. Luckily, you won’t have to do much, as some of them are already poisoned. Wait for the poisoned enemies to die, then toss a grenade in the middle of the crowd to scatter them. Defeat the remaining enemies while protecting Mr. Ditch.
After the fight is over, talk to Mike Ditch and tell him about Ghost. You can then return to the abandoned mansion and tell Ghost about your encounter. They will be reunited, giving you cash as a reward.
