Palia is a multiplayer game on an open beta for Switch and Windows. The game features a beautiful world filled with quests and adventure. A sawmill in the game will allow you to build structures as it allows you to make plank from the wood collected from trees. The Sawmill is one of the primary crafting stations you need to progress in the game. Here is how to unlock the primary and heavy sawmills and what they both do.
How to Unlock Basic Sawmill in Palia
To unlock the Basic Sawmill, upgrade the Foraging to level 2. This can be done by foraging for trees and other items in the nearby area. When you have attained level 2, you will unlock the Sawmill at the Foraging Guild Store. Find Ashura at the Remembrance Garden to access the store.
You can then access the store and get the item for 100 Gold. If you don’t have enough gold, you can always sell items to Zeki or in Shipping Bin to get the required amount of gold.
Once the recipe is unlocked, you can build the Basic Sawmill with 40 x Sapwood, 12 x Flint, and 20 x Plant Fiber. After acquiring the recipe and the resources, head over to the Workbench to craft the Basic Sawmill in Palia. With the Sawmill setup, you can now make planks from the trees to cut down.
How to Unlock Heavy Sawmill in Palia
Just like the Basic Sawmill, you can also purchase the Heavy Sawmill from Ashura at the Foraging Guild Store, once you have reached the Foraging level 5. You can get the Heavy Sawmill for 1000 gold, and the ingredients required to make the item includes 1 x Basic Sawmill, 30 Heartwood Plank, 8 Iron Bar, and 14 Ceramic.
So, you need to build the basic Sawmill, in order to obtain the Heavy Sawmill. The Heavy sawmill is the same as the basic, with the only difference being that it allows you to make a lot of planks at a faster speed.
Heartwood Plank is made from the Heartwood tree and is a slightly rare item in the game. But, you can also purchase the wood from Foraging Guild Store for a hefty cost of 500 gold. Iron Bar can be purchased from the Blacksmith for 170 gold. Ceramic can also be purchased from the Blacksmith or crafted from Clay.
