Are you having trouble finding the mounds at the Three Saints Falls in Crimson Desert? This quest can be confusing because of its digging/trying out different locations mechanics. This guide explains the system used when trying to complete the quest, where to search for the mounds, and also gives you tips for completing it as fast as possible once you have identified an area to dig.
How the Digging Mechanic Works
If you’re struggling to complete the objective at Three Saints Falls, you’re not alone. This part of the mission can be confusing at first, especially because it doesn’t immediately give clear progress, but it’s important if you want to finish the Traces of Shadows quest.
This objective is a digging-based task where you need to search through multiple mounds near the Three Saints’ Falls. However, not every mound contains what you’re looking for. When you dig in some spots, nothing happens, and no progress is recorded. This can make it seem like you’re missing something or doing the objective incorrectly, but that’s not the case.
Finding the Correct Mound

To move forward, pick away at many mounds located in town before you can find one that has yielded a positive result. The postitive mound that contained what you are looking for will be located on the northeastern side of the community by some bushes. Because there are several mounds that might show as interactable but don’t produce positive results, there is a possibility that you will have to try a few mounds until you find the right one.
Quest Completion

Digging into the right mound will get you the Thief’s Note. Once the letter is read, it will be done. Those who are stuck should continue to dig mounds, especially located on the northeastern part of this area, until the note is discovered and the task can be marked as complete.
