If you have played Grounded, you already know much of how this game functions, but this game is not a copy of Grounded as it was in development much before Grounded started development. Grasshoppers are easy to find as they are abundant in your starting area, but if you need help, we will share where to find the creatures and how to tame grasshoppers in Smalland: Survive the Wilds.

How to Tame Grasshoppers in Smalland: Survive the Wilds

To tame the grasshopper in Survive the Wilds, you must first have the bait in inventory and then beat the grasshopper on the head. Once the health is about halfway down, you can feed the grasshopper and then get the prompt to ride the grasshopper.

As with most recipes, they only unlock once you have collected all the resources to make them. So, to make the grasshopper treat, you need – Insect Egg x 3, Petal x 1, and Seed Oil x 2. Once you have these resources, you can make the grasshopper treat in the cauldron.

So, once you have the treat in your inventory, simply walk up to a grasshopper and hit it on the head with a blunt weapon; you should get the prompt to offer a treat when the health in down to half. After that, you will get another prompt to choose with what you want to do with the grasshopper. The prompts are Mount, Release, and Stay. If you choose Mount, you will immediately start riding the grasshopper.

How to Ride the Grasshopper in Smalland: Survive the Wilds

Once you have tamed the grasshopper, you can ride it across unreachable areas. But there are certain things to remember that will help you manage the creature.

  1. Grasshoppers are very fragile and will attack ants and other insects. The ants can easily kill the grasshopper due to low health. You can heal the grasshopper by feeding it just about anything. Drop the food on the ground before them, and they will eat it.
  2. Try to hop only when needed. After each hop, there is a cooldown. If the grasshopper hops after a gap of good duration, it can hop much further, allowing you to cross to the other side.
  3. You can command your grasshopper to wait, and it will wait at one location. You can also let it go with another commend.
  4. Falling on or near the water can drown the grasshopper. But, besides that, you can jump from any height while mounted on the grasshopper.

So, this is all there is to know about taming and riding a grasshopper in Smalland. Check out the game category for more guides and tips on how to play the game.
