How to Open Scatty’s Chest
The Scatty’s Chest can be found in Scatty’s Hut in the quest “A Ring for Fingers” in Gothic 1 Remake. Before opening the chest, however, there is something you will have to take care of. You have to pay Jackal 10 Ore Nuggets in return for his guard, which will prevent anyone from bothering you while you are in the Old Camp.
Jackal is not a stationary character. Usually, he can be found near the marketplace or at the entrance of the south gate. Once you have paid him, you will be able to continue your quest and concentrate on opening the Scatty’s Chest. The process goes as follows:
- Shift the 5th plate by one space to the left.
- Choose the 3rd plate and shift it to the right by five spaces.
- Shift the 5th plate by two spaces to the left.
- Choose the 2nd plate and shift it by two spaces to the right.
- Shift the 5th plate to the left by six spaces.
- Shift the 4th plate to the left by six spaces.
- Shift the 5th plate to the left by six more spaces.
- Shift the 3rd plate to the left by two spaces.
- Shift the 5th plate by two spaces to the left.
- Shift the 2nd plate to the right by two spaces.
- Shift the 5th plate to the right by two spaces.
- Shift the 4th plate by one space to the right.
- Finally, shift the 1st plate to the right by two spaces.
Once the last stage has been completed, the chest shall be unlocked. The most suitable time to unlock Scatty’s chest would be in the morning since it is at that time when he goes out of his hut to the arena. This means that with him away from his hut, you shall be able to unlock his chest. Once you successfully unlock the chest, you’ll be able to collect Scatty’s Ring, which is needed for the quest, as well as a few other useful items stored inside.
