How to Build Wards to Secure Chests, Doors, and Other Items
The Ward can be used not just to personalize the chest, but also prevent other players from accessing the doors, building, or any other items in the game. Multiple Wards can be used to extend the radius and secure larger objects. But, before that you need to know how to make the Ward.
The resources required to build a Ward are 1 Surtling Core, 5 Fine Wood, and 5 Greydwarf Eyes. Once you have the resources, you can make it using the Hammer. Use the E key on the keyboard to interact and activate it.
Now that you have the Ward, make a personal chest and then secure it may placing the Ward on it. You can make the personal chest at the Workbench with resources such as 10 Fine Wood and 8 Iron.
If you want other players to access the personal chest, you need to deactivate the Ward. Once the Ward is deactivated, other players can access the chest, but if it’s active none of the other players would be able to access the chest besides yourself.
So, that’s how you make a personal chest personal in Valheim using Wards.
