After the introductory part of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered gets over, you’ll be able to exit the sewers and finally set foot upon the vastness of Oblivion’s world. With a plethora of activities to do, joining the Mage’s Guild can be pretty exciting, especially for Mages and Spellcasters. This allows you to sleep on a bed inside the Living Quarters of these Mage Guilds and also interact with alchemists and spell merchants. The best part is that you can also enhance your weapon after completing a few recommended quests in these Guilds.
Location of Mage Guilds in Oblivion Remastered
You’ll be able to find the Mages Guild in every major city in the game except for Kvatch. There isn’t a Mages Guild present in Kvatch specifically, but they have something called the Arcane University, which is nothing other than an iteration of a Mage’s Guild. However, Imperial City is out of question during the early game so make sure to interact with a ranking member of the guild to become a part of it.
With a prominent sign in front, the Mages Guild is pretty easy to find in Oblivion Remastered. You can find an eye-shaped logo on stained glass or try to look for the Fighter’s Guild, as these Mage’s Guilds are mostly next to it. It is easy to recognise the Fighters Guild due to the red flags soaring. After you’ve identified the Guild house, just walk inside and interact with a member to join it.
You can talk with the leader of the Guild to join and become a member. Each chapter has a different leader:
- Anvil – Carahil
- Bravil – Kud-ei
- Bruma – Jeanne Frasoric
- Cheydinhal – Falcar
- Chorrol – Teekeeus
- Leyawiin – Dagail
- Skingrad – Adrienne Berene
These characters can often be observed wearing long blue robes. However, that is not always the case, so make sure to be attentive.
How to Join Mage Guild in the Game?
You can access the map in your journal after getting out of the sewers in Oblivion Remastered. You’ll be able to check the cities that are available for fast travelling, and each of these cities has its own Mages Guild. (The Imperial City doesn’t have a Mage’s Guild but Arcane University.) Once you travel to any of these cities, interact with the guards, you’ll be directed to the Mage’s location.
- You’ll be able to join the Mage’s Guild directly by talking with the Guild Master, without needing to complete any task.
- You can delve deeper into the Guild by completing a quest, which is different in each city.
- Once you’re done with the quests in all seven cities, the Arcane University in the Imperial City will become accessible.
You’ll get a Mage’s Guild Key after joining the guild, which can be used to navigate your way through the Library and Living Quarters. You can upgrade your level and stats by sleeping on the bed in the Living Quarters of any Mage’s Guild. The books, crystal balls or other items inside the guild can be sold to NPCs for some resources, which can be beneficial in the early game, so do not shy away from taking them.
