How to Find All Gold Chests in Sentinel Barracks – Chapter 4?
In DOOM: The Dark Ages, gold chests are an essential resource that rewards the player with gold, which is utilised for unlocking upgrades and buying new equipment. Not all chapters feature them, but in missions where they do, they’re usually hidden behind environmental puzzles, combat gauntlets, or tricky platforming challenges. Chapter 4 has two Gold Chests worth searching for.
Gold Chest 1 Location
The second secret of Chapter 4 directly follows the area filled with Shield Soldiers.
How to Get It:
- After clearing the corridor with the Shield Soldiers, enter the room containing a green button on the floor.
- To the left, locate a smaller chamber with a ledge overhead.
- Look for a Green Flesh Node on the ceiling—use your Shield Throw to target and hit it.
- This makes a path up; jump onto the newly revealed ledge.
- Head along the ledge to a place with a view over a large metal cube.
- Jump down in front of the cube and charge with a Shield to move it into a new position close to a ledge in the next room.
- Climb on top of the relocated cube to access a secret area with the Gold Chest, which gives you 53x Gold.
Gold Chest 2 Location
Just before you approach the spiral tower, after crossing the bridge section.
How to Get It:
- Jump across the bridge, and a massive spiral structure will be seen in front of you. Do not approach it yet. Go back and look at the platform that you just jumped from. Under it is a secret lower area.
- Jump down and find a path of gold to your right—this is your path. Follow the path while fighting a few enemies, such as Nightmare Stalker Imps (invisible and hostile) and regular fodder demons.
- Avoid incoming fireballs that occasionally fill the room. At the end of the room, you’ll find a wall that can be climbed—climb it to access a ledge with a ritual circle and a Ruby pickup.
- Proceed along the top ledge, following the path of gold, until you come across a heap of treasure. Take it, then drop back down to the top of the original island platform.
- Go across the bridge again, and this time go straight into the spiral tower.
- Within, go right up to a room with another Gold Chest—be prepared for a battle, as two Nightmare Stalker Imps are waiting to ambush you.
