To unlock most weapons, you need to go through the gunsmith progression to unlock it. Here we will see how to unlock the Minibak SMG in Modern Warfare 2.

To unlock the Minibak SMG, you must first have the base weapon unlocked. Head over to the Kastovia Platform in the Gunsmith to get it.
- The base weapon is the Kastov 762 AK-47, which you can unlock after reaching level 24 in Multiplayer
- Upgrade the Kastov 762 to level 12
- This will unlock the Kastov 545. Upgrade this gun to level 13
- Next in line is the Kastov 74-U. Level up this gun to level 18
- You will now unlock the Minibak SMG
While upgrading the Kastov 74-U, you can also unlock the Vaznev-9K at level 17, so you can get two guns under the same progression. It can be a bit confusing at first to unlock the Minibak, as it claims to upgrade the Vaznev-9K to level 14 to unlock the gun, but going through the progression level of the Kastov 74-U is enough to get the SMG.
