Collecting the hidden gems in Ice Tycoon 2 is the key to unlocking the Collector’s Badge and earning a permanent upgrader that carries over through rebirths. While each gem is tucked away in a different late-game location, this guide explains where to find all five gems and how to claim your reward.
Getting the Collector’s Badge
To get the Collector’s Badge in Ice Tycoon 2, you’ll need to find and place five hidden gems in their respective slots at your tycoon. Obtaining the badge gives you an upgrader that helps you continue through rebirths. But remember, to get the gems, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve unlocked most of the areas. Here’s the location of all five gems:
Blue Gem
To get the Blue Gem, you will have to unlock all the nine areas first. Then, from the starting area, go towards the back where you’ll find a sort of room. Go to the left corner and start mining the rocks you’ll find there. Once done, a hole will appear, and you’ll simply need to go down it and collect the gem.
Green Gem
To get the Green Gem, you’ll need to go outside the Abandoned Factory area. From the starting location, go right, and cross the small bridge you’ll come across. After crossing the bridge, take a left, keep going until you come across a grey wall on the right. Go through it and you’ll reach the Abandoned Factory area. On the left, you’ll find a wall that you can climb to reach a room of sorts inside which the Green Gem can be found.
Red Gem
To acquire the Red Gem, you will need Frozen Magma from the Hotel. From the starting location, go right, take another right, and climb up the stairs to reach the Hotel. Go inside the hotel and reach the third floor. There, on the left, you’ll find a room inside which you’ll find the Frozen Magma.
Once you’ve collected the Frozen Magma, go back down, and towards the Tycoon Progress area where there will be lava. Simply equip the Frozen Magma for temporary heat resistance, jump into the lava, and get the Red Gem.
Yellow Gem
To get the Yellow Gem, you’ll have to go to the Hotel and get the key but to do so, you’ll be required to finish the three obby escape levels. Once you’ve reached the hotel, you’ll find a panel in the starting area. Choose level 1 by pressing the green button and go straight to the terrace area where you’ll find a chest at the end of a plank. Collect the rewards (1220$) inside and Level 1 will be complete.
Now, for both Level 2 and Level 3, you’ll need to go back to the panel, select the respective level, press the green button, go to the terrace, and collect the rewards from the chest at the end of the plank. Level 2 rewards you with 1550$ and Level 3 rewards you with the key.
Once you’re done, go to the snow area, and use the key to unlock the entrance. Then, go inside, and you’ll find the Hatch on the left side through which you’ll have to go down and collect the Yellow Gem.
Purple Gems
To obtain the Purple Gem, you’ll need to go to the area after the first battle which is also one of the last areas in the game. There, you’ll find a well through which you’ll have to jump down. The well will take you to a maze. Inside, follow a straight route, take left, keep going, and then take another left. Take right afterwards until you reach an entrance.
Go through it, then take another right through an entrance, continue on the route until you come across two entrances yet again. Take the one on the right, continue through the path, then take another right, and keep going until you reach the obby on the left. Complete the obby and you’ll reach the Purple Gem.
What To Do With All Five Gems
After you’ve collected all five of the gems, you’ll need to place them in their respective circles in the tycoon. This will unlock the badge for you and you’ll get a permanent upgrader for yourself.
