It can be quite a challenge to locate silver at the early stages of gameplay in Subnautica 2. In this guide, I will cover some easy methods for finding silver deposits by examining a nearby trench, looking for significant landscape features, and determining where unique plant formations are located that indicate valuable resources hidden inside underwater caves.
Swim Toward the Trench Area

Firstly, you will need to leave your life pod and start swimming away from it. After a while, you’ll come across an Angel Comb from where you’ll need to continue downward to the trench area. As you descend, you will notice a strong underwater current flowing through the cave system. You will need to have plenty of oxygen before you enter into the deeper parts of the cave system as it will take you a while to fully explore the various areas safely.
Look for the Green Flower Formations

Inside the trench, pay close attention to see if there are any glowing green flowers around the walls and cave entrance. These plants indicate that there are silver deposits nearby. There is a difference in how resources were found in the previous game and how they’re found in Subnautica 2. The majority of resources used to be biome-dependent but now, they are tied more closely to smaller sub-biomes. Whenever you find these types of plants clustered together, you will have a better opportunity of finding silver in that area.
Search Near the Air Pocket

Keep going through the cave until you arrive at an air pocket where you will find silver deposits ready to collect, as well as a chance to refill oxygen. Remember to recognise the flower patterns for future exploration since they can help you locate silver much faster throughout the game.
