Mud has to be one of the most vocal characters in Gothic 1 Remake, but he does tend to be a nuisance with all of his outbursts and remarks. Thankfully, it is possible to get rid of him while also unlocking the rare Mud Freak Achievement. Here’s how to complete his entire dialogues to send him away.
Find Mud in the Old Camp
To start the process of earning the Mud Freak achievement, travel to Old Camp and go left of Castle Entrance as you arrive at Old Camp. You will see a character named Mud standing by Snaf, the cook. Speak with Mud, then agree to allow him to accompany you.
He will now follow you around, make many comments, and interrupt your conversations with other NPCs.
Listen to All of Mud’s Comments
To get the achievement, you must listen to Mud’s comments. There are a total of 24 Mud comments. Some Mud comments are only for particular characters. So, you must walk around the camp while Mud is with you and talk to everyone to trigger all 24 comments.
Also, be sure to talk to Mud. He has other dialogue options that will count towards your total Mud comments.
Chase Mud Away and Unlock the Achievement
When you finish talking with Mud, take him outside the camp. It isn’t safe to do this inside the camp, but it can also be done there.
Once you are outside the camp, put away your weapons and fight Mud with your bare hands until he falls to the ground. Then after he gets back up again, he will make his last statement and you will earn the Mud Freak Achievement after you force him out of the area.
