It’s not something you’ll come across early in the game, so you’ll need to reach a later region and face tougher enemies to get it. How to Get Crocodile Hide
You need to go to the Cursed Swamp, where you are going to get your first piece of Crocodile Hide which is the third region in the game. You won’t have access to this area right away. First, you need to progress through the story and defeat the Foothills boss, Israel Hands. After that, you’ll receive a main quest called Forgotten Relics, which will guide you to your first Cursed Swamp location.
When you get to the Cursed Swamp, keep moving and searching for Sacrificial Altars. These spots are important because crocodiles tend to spawn around them. However, beware of crocodiles because they are pretty aggressive, powerful, and have a lot of health. The best way to deal with them is to focus on dodging. When a crocodile attacks, dodge to the side first, then move backwards. Sometimes they follow up with a second attack, so keep repeating this side-and-back movement to stay safe. After defeating one, you should get your first Crocodile Hide Piece.
How to Use Crocodile Hide
Once you start collecting Crocodile Hide Pieces, you can use them to craft a couple of useful items.
- Hide Arborum – requires 1 Crocodile Hide Piece
- Quartermaster Backpack – requires 5 Crocodile Hide Pieces
So if you’re planning to craft the backpack, make sure to farm a few extra hides, as it takes a bit more to unlock that one.
