Materials in Palworld will play an important role in crafting and progression; thus, obtaining the likes of Chromite or Hexolite Quartz could be of great help, especially when upgrading your arsenal or unlocking new technologies for even more advanced items. Below is all you might want to know about farming Chromite and discovering Hexolite Quartz, along with the tools and locations needed to find this stuff and make it more efficient.
How to Get Chromite
Chromite is a valuable material you can farm, collect, and use in Palworld. Chromite is a metal found underground; to locate it, you can use a Metal Detector on specific islands. There are two primary ways to obtain it, each offering a unique approach. Chromite is also used to craft Hexolite.
- The first method is using the new Metal Detector. This tool will help you find Chromite beneath the ground in the new Feybreak region. To unlock this, you must be at Level 56, activate it from your Technology Screen, and then use Hexolite to craft it. Once unlocked, you can start searching for Chromite buried underground. You can only use the metal detector when running on the ground or mounted on a non-flying pal.
- Once you have unlocked the Metal Detector, you will need resources to craft it. Among the resources, the Nightstar Sand is unique to the update and can be obtained at night in sandy areas of Feybreak. They shine and are hard to miss at night on the beaches.
- Using the Mine Detector is simple: equip it, and it will send out waves that change color once the resource is nearby, and the waves speed up, too. When you are close enough, you will notice a mine pop up.
- Smokie Pal: The update brings a new pal named Smokie, who can help you find the Chromite deposits, but it’s not as efficient as the metal detector.
- Smokie Pals can also be found in the red area on Feybreak Island.
- Another way to acquire Chromite is by completing tasks for the Arrogant Pal Critic NPC. This character will request that you showcase specific Pals and reward you upon completion. Among the rewards, there’s a chance you’ll receive Chromite, making this another effective way to stock up on the material.
- In the early game, the best location to find Chromite is inland. You should use the Metal Detector when you come across the area with the Red Trees and Red Grass. At the moment, we could only find the resource at this location. We will update the post if we find a specific location that we can show on the map.
Tip: Chromite is a heavy resource, so ensure you have plenty of inventory space before you come mining for them.
How to Get Hexolite Quartz
The Hexolite Quartz is one of the most common resources on the Feybreak island. So, when you make it to the island, you will not have difficulty gathering the item. Use your pickaxe to mine the resource.
Tip: Bring a water pal to access Feybreak Island. Any flying pal will be knocked down by missiles. Once on the island, activate fast travel beacon to create a direct travel point.
