In Grounded 2, certain items are essential for both progression and survival, particularly for building your base or crafting essential items. Two of the most useful and versatile items in the game are Acorns and Berry Leather. Acorns are essential in crafting armor, tools, and base structures, while Berry Leather is essential in crafting mid-game gear and equipment. Although they are essential, they do not fall into your lap and require some work and searching.
This guide explains where Acorns and Blueberries are located, and how to process these raw materials into usable crafting materials.
Where to Find Acorns

Acorns are typically found in large quantities in the surrounding area of large oak trees that are in the southwest and northwest corners of the map. These areas—especially The Entrance and parts of Pine Hill—are Acorn-dense, scattered all over the forest floor next to the trunks of these massive trees.
To cut Acorns, it’s as simple as using a Level 1 Omni-Tool Hammer to break them open. This gives rewards of Acorn Shells and occasionally Acorn Tops, both being craft materials for armor, stairs, turrets, and most base pieces. While the shells are always given, the tops are more uncommon and can require quite a number of Acorns to acquire enough to craft more advanced items.
Take note that the surroundings of these trees are more dangerous compared to the starting areas. Spiderlings, Orb Weaver Jr. spiders, and other dangers roam these areas, so gear up with some basic armor and weapons before heading out.
Where to Find Blueberries

Blueberries, the ingredient used to make Berry Leather, are not as abundant as Acorns. They’re mostly found in two places:
- Southern Pond Close to the Ice Cream Truck: This area in the lower southeastern region of the map is the most reliable source for Blueberries. It has a number of Blueberry trees full of fruit, and players will be tasked with going there during the campaign under the mission “Find the ORC soldiers by the pond.” It is far from the initial point of entry, but well worth it for the sheer number of berries.
- Picnic Table: North of the first area, past the Hatchery Anthill, is the peak of the Picnic Table with a stash of Blueberries. Reaching it involves a bit of a task and needs walking by ORC bugs and Orb Weaver Spiders, so go equipped with durable gear.
Blueberries in both places can be knocked off using any weapon or projectile and then retrieved afterwards from the ground.
How to Craft Berry Leather

Once you’ve found a Blueberry, cut it using the Level 1 Omni-Tool Axe. This bursts the fruit apart into Blueberry Chunks, which are the raw materials needed to craft Berry Leather.
After you’ve collected enough Chunks, drop them off at a Ranger Station so they can be analyzed to allow you to access crafting options. There are two methods of transforming Chunks into functional Berry Leather:
- Workbench Method: Transform three Blueberry Chunks into one piece of Berry Leather instantly at any Workbench. This is quick but less efficient.
- Jerky Rack Method: Build a Jerky Rack in your base and feed the Chunks into it. In a few in-game hours, each Chunk will have been transformed into a full piece of Berry Leather, offering a higher yield per material.

Acorns and Berry Leather are foundational materials in Grounded 2, unlocking essential upgrades and crafting options. While Acorns are relatively easy to farm in oak-rich areas of the park, Blueberries require more travel and combat readiness. By understanding where and how to collect these items—and choosing the best methods for refining them—you’ll streamline your progression and ensure you’re well-equipped for the challenges ahead.
