When you first start scavenging for resources, you would require tools like the Pickaxe and Axe for harvesting them. They can be easily crafted once you have some simple materials for them, or if you load into the game with supplies on you. Once you have your tools, you can go around and gather your resources. Use the ax to chop wood and ax for mining rocks. You can press and hold down the button to use the ax and pickaxe so that they will automatically keep chopping or mining till the area is cleared. Once you have your resources lined up, you can gather them all together by pressing and holding down the E key. This will help collect all resources simultaneously instead of picking them up individually.
During early gameplay, you would require stone, wood, and fiber. If you load into the respective biomes like the forest biome, you can farm endless amount of early game resources
