Axum Bacterial Culture is an important resource to collect in Subnautica 2. You can find this resource in the sludge-filled areas around the alien power plant biome. This guide will explain how to find and collect the Axum Bacterial Culture, how to go to the correct ooze lakes, and where to collect the bacterial culture samples from without using any special tools.
Start From the Angel Comb Area
To locate Axum Bacterial Culture, you will first want to make your way to the Angel Comb which is located near the alien power plant. Once you reach this location you will need to head about 30 degrees to the northeast and proceed straight for a while until you come to a point where your path curves off to the right, but you’ll need to ignore this turn and continue straight forward.
Search the Sludge-Filled Area
Eventually, you’ll come to an area that’s full of sludge. To collect the objects from that spot, you’ll have to swim down to it and see which ones are sticking out of the sludge. Each item can be collected by using hands without needing any special tools. Interact with them to pick up the Axum Bacterial Culture. There are some objects that disintegrate upon touching, so if you touch one that does this then just move to another one nearby.
Check the Second Ooze Lake
Although the first sludge does not seem to have a lot of these resources all together, there is one more smaller sludge lake nearby from which you would be able to take multiple samples. From the first sludge pool, move upward and to the left to find the second ooze lake where you can obtain more Axum Bacterial Culture.
