MW4 DMZ has Irradiated Containers that contain useful loot such as firearms, schematics and blueprints, but they would first have to be decontaminated before they can be opened. The Haneul Nuclear Reactor has several potential spawn locations, making it a useful place to search. Here’s how you can locate these containers, get to the radioactive cleanser, and how to collect the rewards.
Where to Find Irradiated Containers
Irradiated containers appear randomly around the area, but the majority of them can be found inside medical lockers and yellow cupboards. The Haneul Nuclear Reactor has many possible locations for containers to spawn so it is good for raiding multiple containers at once.
Check the yellow lockers inside the reactor complex, particularly those in the chemical storage areas. One room below the stairs has two locations where containers can spawn. Also, check the open area on the first floor of the neighboring reactor where the pools are located. Regular hospitals and similar locations also spawn the containers, but the spawns are fewer than in the reactor.
Due to Irradiated Containers being rare, it is advisable to always place one in a secure slot to avoid losing it.
How to Reach the Radioactive Cleanser
Make sure to carry gas masks before stepping into the hazardous zone. Locations such as fire brigade centres usually have gas masks while hazmat suits are found on walls in the reactor facilities; just look out for them in close proximity to the southern electrical substation. Hazmat suits are more durable than gas masks; however, they disappear as soon as you exit the area.
To make the task easier and more efficient, it is best to complete the missions until the point of Operation Fallen Ember. Although it is possible to travel to the areas without having activated the missions; completing them would successfully provide you with the route to the nuclear station. However, you can reach the area without activating the mission.
Follow the route across the reactor complex toward the southern electrical substation. Before entering, make sure to check the stairwell for the possibility of a hazmat suit spawn. After that, proceed to the ladder so that you can use the zipline for reaching the damaged roof of the reactor. Head inside until you reach the northwest section towards Reactor 02.
You will find the radioactive cleanser right in the corner of the room after you enter Reactor 02 and head one floor down. While inside the reactor area, be prepared for a confrontation with guards and an additional Chemist that might be in the area. Radiation pills can help in irradiated areas, but use a stim to maintain maximum health in the red radiation zone.
How to Decontaminate Irradiated Containers
When you have reached the radioactive cleanser, interact with it and put your Irradiated Container inside it. Wait for the processing to complete, and then you may open the container and take your rewards.
There are various types, but containers can give you very valuable weapons, weapon guides, and blueprints. Once you collect the loot, exit the area toward an extraction place. Activating Operation Fallen Ember does not provide a free extraction, so you must extract yourself.
Don’t forget to check the yellow lockers and the chemical storage area for other containers before leaving the place. Haneul Nuclear Reactor presents several good spawns, thus you have more chances to find and clean the containers during a single raid.
