In Gothic 1 Remake, to complete Ulbert’s Storage Shed quest, you must find Aleph. He is located in the Old Mine. You will need to either bribe him or pickpocket him to get the storage key. This article explains both how to find Aleph and what options you have to get the key from him.
How to Start Ulbert’s Storage Shed Quest
To begin Ulbert’s Storage Shed quest you will want to start looking for Ulbert at the Old Mine. You will need to enter the mine and follow the passage from the main entrance to the large caver. Then continue deeper into the mine by climbing down each set of ladders until you eventually reach Ulbert.
Before you start talking to Ulbert, there is something you need to make sure that you have. You need to have a bottle of beer with you. If you do not have one you will find it located in a chest in close proximity to Ulbert.
Talk with Ulbert to find out what he is guarding, but he will not tell you what it is until you give him a drink. You will need to give him the bottle of beer before he will tell you that he is guarding supply chests and that the key to those supply chests has gone missing. He thinks it is Aleph who has taken the key.
Find Aleph and Obtain the Key
Return to the ladder that goes up to the tunnel leading back towards the main entrance after you learn the key is missing. Once you’ve climbed the ladder, go left, and into the direction of a new tunnel that will lead to a different part of the mine where you can locate Aleph.
Aleph will be holding the key you are looking for and if you bribe him he will give it to you. You can bribe him with three different amounts of ore:
- 10 ore – You will receive nothing
- 30 ore – The key is yours
- 50 ore – The key and a Ring of Power will be yours.
If you want the key without spending any ore on him, you can steal it from him by pickpocketing.
Open Ulbert’s Storage Shed
Return to Ulbert after acquiring the key and tell him through the new dialogue option that Ian directed you to him as he has a feast waiting for him downstairs.
At this point, Ulbert will go to receive his portion of the feast, leaving his storage chest open to loot.
Inside the chest, you will find:
- Scroll of Life
- Iron
- 5 Torches
The actual loot can be found behind the shed, so be sure to check the shed before leaving.
