New World is a huge game with a lot to explore. You’ll need to spend a lot of time discovering different places and landmarks. Fast travel is important to help you get around quickly and enjoy the game more. There are several ways to fast travel, so make sure you know them all. In this guide, we’ll teach you all the different ways to travel quickly in New World.
What is Fast Travel in New World: Aeternum
New World offers a useful feature called fast travel that lets you quickly teleport between different locations without having to walk or ride for hours. This is especially useful when you’re exploring the game’s vast world and need to get back to a specific place quickly. By learning how to use fast travel, you can spend less time traveling and more time enjoying the game.
How to Fast Travel in New World: Aeternum
New World has a unique approach to fast travel compared to other MMORPGs. You can’t simply select a destination on your map and teleport there instantly.
Between Settlements Using Azoth
Azoth is a magical substance that you need to use fast travel in New World. You can earn Azoth by completing quests, defeating enemies, and doing other activities. You’ll need Azoth to travel between towns and special places called spirit shrines.
To fast travel to a settlement:
- Open your map and choose the place you want to go.
- Click “Fast Travel.” This will cost 20 Azoth if you’re traveling between different areas, but only 10 Azoth if you’re staying within the same area.
- If your faction controls the Restless Shore fort, you can fast travel for free within your faction’s territory.
- You must have visited the settlement or shrine before to be able to fast travel there.
- Make sure you’re starting at a fast travel point, like another settlement or shrine.
Between Shrines Using Azoth
Spirit Shrines are special places located throughout Aeternum. Unlocking these shrines is important for easy travel around the world. Once unlocked, you can use them to quickly teleport between different locations using Azoth.
To fast travel to a shrine:
- Spirit Shrines are shown on your map. Silver means you haven’t unlocked them, and gold means you have.
- To travel to a shrine, you must be at another shrine or town. You’ll need Azoth to do this, but it’s free if your faction owns the Restless Shore fort.
- Unlocking as many shrines as possible is a good idea so you can travel quickly around the world without having to walk far.
Using Inns
Recalling to an Inn is a free way to travel quickly, but it’s limited. Each town has an Inn where you can check in. Once you do that, the Inn becomes your special place to teleport back to. You can only have one Inn as your recall point at a time. The bad thing about recalling to an Inn is that you can only do it once every hour. However, you can teleport back to your Inn from anywhere, unlike when you use Azoth to travel.
To make an Inn your quick travel location:
- Go to any town and talk to the person who runs the Inn.
- Check in to make the Inn your fast travel location to teleport back to. You can only have one Inn as your fast travel point at a time.
- In order to go back to the Inn: click ‘Open your map’, then the ‘Find the inn’ and ‘Recall to Inn’. This ability takes 30 minutes until it can be used again, but it does not cost any Azoth.
Owning Houses
Owning a house in Aeternum has many benefits. It’s not just a place to keep your stuff or make it look nice; it’s also a fast travel point. You can have up to three houses in the game, and each one has its own cooldown for fast travel.
Traveling to your house is special because it doesn’t cost Azoth and you can do it from anywhere. If you’re in a rush and don’t want to wait for the cooldown, you can pay Azoth to reset the timer and travel right away.
