DMZ or Demilitarized Zone is a new mode in Warzone 2 that requires players to loot and successfully escape with their loot and in this article, we’re going to tell you how.
The DMZ mode in Warzone 2 is the latest extraction shooter game and players are taught to value their lives here. Dying once would mean you lose all your gear which you’ve worked so hard to amass and build.
The factions here are different from the first Warzone game but that doesn’t make things easy or different as it’s still a fight for survival. Players have to get as much loot as they can and escape strategically without being gunned down.
Exfil and Extract Successfully in Warzone 2- DMZ
Several exfil locations will be marked on your map and players must make their way to these locations with their loot as quickly as possible. Once they’ve reached a specific exfil location they can then call for a helicopter to come rescue or extract them. These locations will be marked by a fire-exit symbol with the man being in blue.
In about a minute, an extraction helicopter will promptly arrive at your designated location and a 30-second countdown timer will begin. After 30 seconds, the chopper will take off carrying all players who have successfully managed to get on it while pushing back other enemies.
This is because once you manually activate an extraction request at an exfil location, all the other players in the game will be notified of your location. This will prompt enemies from all over the map to converge at your location and try to prevent you from extracting by killing you. Many of these players will want to leave themselves while others might just be there to impede others’ progress and take their loot.
Once the timer ends, the chopper will take off with anyone who’s managed to safely get on board- and you may not be one of those people. Players who thus manage to leave win by surviving with all their gear and loot.
Extraction Tips in Warzone 2 DMZ
Here are some simple key points you need to remember for successful extraction and exfil in DMZ Warzone:
- Quickly loot as many enemies as you can and call for exfil early. The longer you wait to call for extraction, the more limited your options will become as the remaining exfil sites will get busier and more ruthless.
- Secure a cover before calling for exfil. Once you give the signal, you can take cover and set traps for the enemies converging in your location.
- You can also take your sweet time prepping beforehand for enemies before you call for exfil. Use traps and Claymores around the area to deal with pesky Operators.
- Once the helicopter lands and the timer begins, don’t just jump in too quickly as enemies can still kill you while you wait inside. Wait for the timer to run out and attempt to jump in during the last seconds.
- Ensure you’re skilled enough to unlock Insured Slots as they contain powerful weapons and you definitely need one of those.
- As a desperate move, you can also latch on to the side of the chopper using the new ledge-hang mechanic if you couldn’t make it inside in time. Do note that once you’re airborne, you will become an easy target for ground enemies.
If you miss your chance to escape, you’ll have other chances. You can wait for other players to call for exfil and ambush them in their location or team up on spot to escape together.
Once all the exfil locations in the map have been used up, one last bonus extraction point will appear and this is where the action reaches its climax. This will be your last chance to leave. Even though active zones don’t have a shrinking mechanism, radiation will still gradually spread- deeming multiple exfil locations useless. So if you can’t make it to the last extraction, you lose.
