The Art of Skill Theft is an investigation quest that incorporates some tracking and light puzzle-solving, with a bit of stealth. You will follow clues throughout Kaifeng City, learn a bit about trickery, and by the end, you will unlock a useful Mystic Skill.
Below is a simple walkthrough that covers every step, including how to disguise yourself as Muddle in order to get into the Martial Hall.

Where the Quest Starts
Head to the Martial Hall near South Gate Avenue in Kaifeng City. The first key NPC, Wuyan, will later be found at the Kaifeng Fairground, so remember the location.
The Art of Skill Theft – Full Walkthrough
Follow the marker to the Martial Hall entrance. Trying to walk inside kicks off the quest. Lu Youqi is guarding the entrance and won’t just let you through. Talk to him to update the quest. Opposite the gate is a dishevelled old man. He speaks to you, and eventually he reveals that he is actually somebody else and gives you a hint about trickery involving disguise. This sets up the next step: creating a portrait.
Find Muddle sitting on a bench near the Martial Hall. Observe him and create his portrait. This portrait is later used to create your disguise. Go to the Kaifeng Fairground Market and find Wuyan. Show her the portrait and ask for makeup that matches Muddle’s appearance. Once she’s done, you’ll be fully disguised. With the disguise on, head back to the Martial Hall. This time, the guards will let you through.
You’ll be stopped by Pan Shui, who asks for a Core Disciple’s Token.
Time to “borrow” one. Head out to a shed and find Tiancai. After he refuses to give the token to you, activate Wind Sense and interact with his bag. This allows you to get the token quietly without a fight. Go back to the courtyard and head inside to meet Elder Tian. Talk with him to obtain the Rope Dart, which you will use in the next part.
Stand in the blue circle in the courtyard to activate the Skill Theft mini-game.
Complete it to earn the Rodent Rampage Mystic Skill.
