Starting out in Satisfactory can be tough, especially for the first explorers. They’re dropped into a new world with very little to work with. Luckily, iron ore is easy to find and collect. You can find it right away and use the basic tool you start with to mine it. You can even break down your spaceship to get even more iron.
Iron ore is super important in the beginning of Satisfactory. You’ll need it to make iron plates and rods, which are used for almost everything. You won’t be able to progress very far without them. So, get out there and find as much iron ore as you can!
How to make iron plates and iron rods in Satisfactory
Before you can start making iron plates and rods, you need two things: enough iron ore and a crafting station called the HUB Terminal. Luckily, you can break down your spaceship to get enough iron ore to build the HUB Terminal. Then, you can easily find more iron ore to make the plates and rods.
Now that you have the HUB Terminal and enough iron ore, you can start making iron plates and rods. Just go to the workbench and follow the instructions. You’ll need a certain amount of iron ore to make each item. Once you’ve put the ore in, you can start crafting. Here’s how much you’ll need for each level:

How to Farm Iron Ores
You’ll need a lot of iron ore to start playing Satisfactory. The good news is, iron ore is everywhere! Your scanner can even help you find it. So, get ready to mine a lot of iron.
You can find iron ore in two ways: use your scanner to find it on the map, or just look around. Your scanner will show you where the ore is and how far away it is.
Iron ore clusters are the best places to find iron ore. They’re big piles of ore that you can mine. Just stand in front of one and start digging. Once you’ve mined enough, the cluster will disappear.
You can also mine iron ore from the floor under the clusters. It’s not as efficient as mining the clusters, but you can keep doing it as long as you want.
