Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is finally here, and players are able to play 17 missions on early access. One of them is the Recon by Fire Mission, which is the ninth campaign mission that you will get to play. In this guide, we will take you through the process of how to complete the Recon by Fire Mission in Modern Warfare 2.
Modern Warfare 2: Mission 9 – Recon by Fire Walkthrough
In the Recon by Fire mission, you will need to play as the protagonist Gaz. This is the next mission after Hardpoint, so you will need to complete that first. Recon by Fire takes place in Spain, and for completing it, you will get the reward of a Calling Card “Gaz”.

This is quite a long mission, as well as your first sniper mission. Crawl on the grass and take down enemies with precision. You will need to make your way inside the sewers through a tunnel. Stay crouched and hidden until you see enemy patrol, who cannot notice you.
At the next area, you will get to use the heartbeat sensor feature and check the buildings there. Captain Price will guide you through a call, and you will need to do the recon of the bay area. Follow his instructions and take down the targets from a distance. He will cover for you as you travel toward the base.
Vehicles will approach, but you can take cover in the grass. Wait for them to pass and close in on the buildings. There are enemies to take out after which you can approach the warehouse. Enter it and clear the enemies to look for the white container with guns and drugs. Escape the building and clear out the next warehouse.
Regroup with Captain Price and he will take you to the lighthouse. More recon to do, but you will need to take a lot of headshots. There is a secret area here behind a laundry machine where you will need to drop down. Take out the enemies there and wait for the boats to come to you for extraction.
The Recon by Fire mission follows the Hardpoint campaign mission in Modern Warfare 2, which is mandatory to finish first as it follows a narrative.
