You can learn how to change worlds quite early in the game. After you have completed the tutorial, you will be guided to the first settlement in your server. Once you reach here, you can interact with the Teleporter, which will give you the list of all available worlds you can change to. The Teleporter will be placed randomly around the settlement, so you need to run around to find it
To know which world you are currently on, if you open your map, you will find your current world on the top right corner. You can use the Teleoprter anytime during your gameplay to change worlds as many times as you like. Just fast travel to a nearby settlement, hunt for the teleporter, interact with it and you can select a new world from the drop down box. This list will also show you that world’s population, making it easier to go to a lesser populated world.
