Kuki Shinobu was one of the recent disappointing 4-stars in Genshin Impact. She is a 4-star sword-wielding electro healer which is a first. But that’s about it. Released in Version 2.7, her damage is disappointing and her healing is decent at best.
There’s a reason the player base in Genshin did not take kindly to her. There are better units than her in all the roles she can fill. In terms of damage and reactions, Beidou outclasses her. In terms of healing, we already have Sayu, Diona, Bennett, and Barbara among the 4-stars. However, her future isn’t hopeless and she might get buffed in Version 3.0 when Sumeru and Dendro drop.
Possible Hope for Kuki in Sumeru
With the addition of Dendro element and new Dendro reactions, Kuki might finally be useful in her role as a reaction and damage support. With the Tenacity of Millelith artifact set and the Freedom Sworn sword which is Kazuha’s best-in-slot, Kuki could turn out to be a significant support unit in the 4-star roster.
According to leaks, Dendro reactions like Quicken and Aggravate will buff electro damage. Since Dendro is looking like it will primarily rely on the Elemental Mastery stat for its damage modifiers and since we already know Kuki scales off of EM too in terms of her electro damage, we can expect her to dish out at least double her current damage numbers. Since her E skill and burst also has an AoE effect, we can expect her to be really good in Sumeru.
Leakers also claim that Quicken will add its damage buffs before DMG% and Crit bonuses are considered. This means that when Dendro is involved, Kuki could be a powerhouse considering she has one extra tick of reaction from her E skill. Players could use her as they use Xinqiu- at least when it comes to Dendro reaction and enemies.
