In Gothic 1 Remake, the Vanished Warder quest will take you on an investigative journey to identify the fate of Nek, a warder from the Old Camp, who has gone missing. As you follow his last known trail and interview many characters throughout the camp, you’ll learn what happened to Nek.
Talk to Sly in the Old Camp
If you want to initiate the Vanished Worker quest in Gothic 1 Remake, go to the Old Camp and look for Sly at the entrance. Talk to him, and he will tell you that he has not seen his friend Nek the Worker lately. Sly doesn’t believe the story that Nek ran away to the new camp, so he asks you to find out what happened to him by asking Fletcher, who used to be friends with Nek.
Find Fletcher, Guy, and Snaf
Fletcher is located in the Arena District. He generally patrols around the ladder that goes up to the arena. When you ask him about Nek, he will tell you he hasn’t seen him in a week and will suggest that you talk to Guy the Dagger.
Guy can be found by the well during the day. When you talk to him, he will tell you that the last person he saw with Nek was Snaf (the camp chef).
You will need to head to Snaf’s location in the Arena District (near the cooking pot). He will tell you he sent Nek out last week to look for supplies and that he left through the south gate and hasn’t been back since.
Find Nek’s Body and Return to Sly
From the south gate of the Old Camp, head straight down the road. There are three Mole Rats along the way, so be careful if you are at a low level. Once you defeat them, you can enter the cave nearby and find Nek’s body.
When you search Nek’s body, he will have an amulet that you can take back to Sly at the Old Camp to prove that Nek died after being attacked by Mole Rats. Give him the amulet to complete The Vanished Worker quest.
