Genshin Impact is a diverse gacha game that offers a vast array of experiences to its players. Among the most exhilarating moments in the game is the anticipation and sheer excitement that accompanies the exploration of a brand-new region. Each new locale holds promises of uncharted territories, captivating landscapes, hidden treasures, and immersive stories waiting to unfold.
Version 3.8 of Genshin Impact will be similar to that of Version 1.8 and 2.8 in the sense that it will feature a grand event involving a temporary map and location to explore and have fun adventures in. While Version 1.8 and 2.8 were about the Golden Apple Archipelago, Version 3.8 brings us a brand-new locale of which we still don’t know the name of- but at least we now have a map.

The design of the map looks fantastical- even more than the world of Teyvat that we’re used to. The small red border likely signifies the border of the explorable region on the map. The region looks straight out of the Sumeru Rainforest with all the rounded lush green mountains and the water bodies meandering through the region.
On the bottom left side of the map, one can see what looks like giant pink flower structures similar to the ones found in our Sumeru Teapot Realm. If you would look closely, you can also see an intricate but organic mesh of pathways connecting some of the lands to the other side of the water body.
According to a previous leak, the map or region is called the Veluriyam Mirage and we get access to it after communicating with some Oceanids who will take on human form. All of this is highly STC (Subject To Change) but players can expect some Fontaine-specific gameplay mechanics to be introduced here so that the developers can get some player feedback and test out the initial product before the final product is released in Fontaine in Version 4.0.
Just like the Golden Apple Archipelago, this new map is sure to be filled with some interesting mechanics, puzzles, quests and even perhaps enemies. Players can even expect to find some local specialities of Fontaine so that players can pre-farm materials for certain characters and weapons. We’re still not sure if the map will feature a world boss from the next region like the Maguu Kenki but at least we can hope so.
