Forged Rivalries is one of the quests offered in Gothic 1 Remake, where you have to help Darion settle an old grudge he had against Stone, who was a blacksmith in the Old Camp. In order to complete the task, you have to infiltrate the castle of Gomez, steal a weapon design from him, and ask Stone to make a specific hammer for you. In this guide, we’ll tell you every step needed to finish the quest.
Forged Rivalries Quest
Forged Rivalries quest appears when you finish the quest called The Templar’s Blade. Go to the Swamp Camp and talk to Darion. He will tell you that he needs to take his revenge on Stone – the blacksmith from the Old Camp. If you do this task for him, the blacksmith in the Swamp Camp will stay available for you.
You will have to steal the Royal Weapon Design from the castle of Gomez in the Old Camp. Go to the Old Camp and enter the castle. The chest that you should find is located in the throne room near Gomez’s throne.
In order to avoid the guards, you shouldn’t go near Raven and enter the castle via the kitchen door to the throne room. In case the guards won’t allow you to go further, you should use the Meatbug Transformation Scroll to enter the castle and change your form in the throne room. Then you will have to unlock the chest and take the Royal Weapon Design together with any other items.
Ask Stone to Forge the Weapon
Show the weapon blueprint to Stone, who works in the forge in Old Camp. After analysing the weapon blueprint, Stone agrees to manufacture the weapon but asks for the following materials:
- 5 Steel Bars
- 2 Ironwood Shafts
- 2 Iron Bands
- 2 Leather Strips
Rather than collecting everything on your own, you just need to pay him 1,000 Nuggets to acquire the materials. After paying him, Stone asks you to come back the next day. Come back the next day and talk to him.
Return to Darion
Return the hammer to Darion at the Swamp Camp. He will examine the item and be satisfied with your work, saying that it is satisfactory enough for Stone to be proud of. As a token of gratitude, he will teach you the art of forging Warhammers.
