Fix Empire of Sin Bootstrap Error ‘Couldn’t Start the Launcher’
The Bootstrap Error ‘Couldn’t Start the Launcher’ is an error we have seen with a lot of games and commonly occurs when some games don’t have the necessary write permission on the disc or some of its functions are blocked when the launch does not have admin rights.
As such, the fix for the issue is quite simple, provide admin privilege to the Steam client and the Bootstrap error should not appear. In order to provide the admin permission, either go to the install directory of Steam and locate the .exe file or simply go to the desktop shortcut of Steam > right-click > Properties > Compatibility tab > and check Run this program as an administrator. Now, you have provided the launcher with admin permission. Attempt to launch the game and it should run smoothly.
If you are still seeing the error, repeat the above process for the game executable. By default it should be located in C. Now, try to launch the game and see if the error still persists.
If it does, then, go to the Document folder and locate the folder named Paradox. Select and delete the folder. Now, close Steam and remove the paradox launcher using the Windows ‘Apps and features.’ Follow the path:

Delete the folders at the above location and launch Steam. Attempt to play the game. The Empire of Sin Bootstrap Error ‘Couldn’t Start the Launcher’ error should be resolved.
