The Destiny 2 error code Pony is a rare error in the game as it’s occurred only a few times in the past for select players. The Bungie help page does not have much information either. Here is all the info on the help page, “Please retry that activity again and resume what you were doing before the error occurred. If you encounter this error again, please exit Destiny and then relaunch. If you continue to see this error, it’s likely due to testing we are doing on our end, please pardon our dust!”
At the time of writing, there is a glitch within the game’s friend request notification. If a player gets too many friend requests, it can overwhelm the notification system and lead to lag, or crash to orbit often with the error code Pony.
Unfortunately, there is no fix for the issue as the problem is with the game’s code and the developers need to fix it.
On a positive note, the developers are aware of the error and are working on a fix. The developers have also shared a temporary workaround that should prevent this error.
Fix Destiny 2 Error Code Pony
At the time, the only fix for the Destiny 2 error code Pony is to turn off Friend and Clan requests in your Settings under the Social area, and setting Fireteam Invites to Friends Only or anything else that you prefer.
This temporary workaround should allow you to play the game without the possibility of getting the error. You can revert to the previous settings once Bungie releases the patch to fix the error.
How to Replicate the Exploit (For Knowledge Purposes Only)
Again, we are sharing this for knowledge only. We do not support using exploits. To replicate the exploit, you can follow the below process.
- Find the players’s exact Bungie name and numerical tag. You can find this in the in-game roaster
- Send multiple friend requests in quick succession to overwhelm the game’s notification system
That’s all, if this happens to you, it will lead to the Pony error code.
