Update: 3 Aug
The past week has been tough being a Warzone player, there was the emergence of the new dev error that occurred for a majority of players and now after the latest patch for the game, users are faced with the error code Diver. This particular error code only affects the downloading of the latest patch. Needless to say, it’s an issue on the server-end given the number of players that have been affected by it. In the past, a lot of users were able to resolve the issue on their own, so give the post a read and see if you find anything useful.
The Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone error code Diver and 6 both have a common cause and can occur across platforms – PC, PS4, and Xbox. The error arises when the downloaded files have been corrupted due to the internet being disconnected or only partial data is download. Restarting the system or the console often works to resolve the errors.
However, like with most COD errors, the cause can vary and the fix too across devices. Stick around and we will show you all various ways for console and PC to fix the error code 6 & Diver in COD Modern Warfare & Warzone.
Fix Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone Error Code 6 & Error Code Diver
If you started to see one of these errors recently, the quickest solution is to go to the install folder of Battle.Net. Open System folder > Data > Data > Delete .idx files and data.x files. Run the Scan and Repair tool.
Another solution that you can try for Warzone, go to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare folder > Data > Data > delete .idx files and data.x files. If both of these fails, try the rest of the guide.
The error code Diver and 6 occurs when there is a problem downloading the new updates for the game, it could often be a problem at the internet service provider’s end. Hence, after you have restarted the console and PC and the game still fails to launch. Then, the first step is to try and download the update via a different internet connection. If you have access to a different ISP, use that connection or you could use your cellular network.
Some users were also able to resolve the error by resetting the network hardware. To perform the reset, turn off the router or modem, disconnect the power cords, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, reconnect the power cords, and start the network hardware normally. This should flush any old data and configuration that may be causing the problem. Now, attempt to play the game on the console or the PC and probably the error code Diver and 6 is fixed.
Often time the Windows Firewall can cause issues when downloading files. Hence, player on PC can try and disable the Firewall while downloading the update. Once the update is complete, set an exception for the game on the Windows Firewall and Virus & Threat Protection and launch the game.
Here are the steps to set the exception on the Widows Firewall:
- Press Windows Key + I and select Update & Security
- Click on Windows Security and select Firewall & network protection
- Click on Allow an app through firewall
- Click on Change settings
- Locate Modern Warfare and tick both Private and Public (If the COD MW app is not listed. Click on Allow another app…, browse and select the executable of the game)
- Save the changes.
Now, launch the game and the Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone error code 6 & error code Diver should not appear.
Another solution that some users are suggesting on Reddit is to perform the update using a VPN service. Although the process can be strenuous, at times it can be the only option you have. If you already have a VPN, it may be worth a shot. However, unreliable VPNs are slow and can make the process of updating the game highly time-consuming. Here is a post we have done on the best free VPNs in the market. Choosing any one should provide you the best download speed and they are free up to a certain limit. So, you can check that out.
Finally, if you are still facing the error, we have a crazy solution that was again suggested by a Redditor. This solution definitely works in some game. In the past, we have encountered errors that could be avoided when the cut-scene is not skipped. We assume that skipping cut-scene triggers some codes that result in the error. Hence, if nothing has worked and you are still faced with the Call of Duty Modern Warfare & Warzone error code 6 or error code Diver, you may want to allow the cut-scene video to play.
On Xbox I was able to fix this by going into manage game and add ons, and deleting the reserved space. It was around 6MB of space.
Doesn’t let me play it says error:DIVER
i cant go in wawrzone
