Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time has 14 Life, some Combat-based, some Gathering, and some Crafting, but all of them require one thing in common in order to progress, and that is experience (XP). In Act 1, when players first come to Mysteria, and they get to choose and level up essentially every Life, they may be overwhelmed by the amount of work needed to promote these jobs and unlock all their skills.

Here in this guide, players will be able to locate the best places to farm XP with Gathering & Combat lives and the best method to level up all the Crafting Lives in early-game phases, giving them a significant advantage later on during the quest. Players will learn thorough guides on the farming routes, monsters, gathering resources, and tips to boost Crafting Lives faster.

Leveling Up Angler Life

Angler can be one of the hardest Gathering Life to level, so players need to prepare themselves with patience and approach this path with points to farm XP faster:

  • Lake by the Woodcutting Guild (Level 1 to 5): There are two ‘Fish Shadows’ within this small lake, and they’re straightforward to catch, as they never reach level 3. Players can pick up some Angler experience, then proceed to the following farming location to continue levelling up.
  • Eternia Village Dock (Level 6 to 7): These fishing spots that are situated on the dock of the first island village are slightly harder, but relatively easy to farm since there are quite a number in quick succession. Players can level up to level 7 here by angling, but after that, they need to catch bigger fish in order to gain more Life XP.
  • Mysteria Capital canals (Level 7 to 11): There are various fishing spots in the canals of Mysteria, outside the wall and in the wall alongside a small pier below the main road bridge of the city. Players can level 11 by catching Mysteria Koi. If players are lucky, they will be able to raise their Angler level high enough to fight the ‘Boss Fish’ inside Banaan Cave and gain a lot of experience.

Leveling Up Combat Life

Combat Lives are a bit tougher to level up, since they require lots of mob killing, but there are some points during Act 1 that are ideal for farming tons of experience. Whether players choose the Paladin, Hunter, Mercenary, or Magician Combat Life, they will certainly level up faster at these locations and according to these tips:

  • Eternia Village Beach (Level 1 to 4): A pair of enemy sets (Tropic Toads and Tunoco Lizard) spawn here all the time. Simply scroll out of the arena, and the animals will respawn, so this is the best place to train through the first few levels in any Combat Life.
  • Mysteria Capital (Level 4 to 10): There are a ton of places to farm Combat Life Experience here, but the best places are near Banaan Cave. On the beach, they will have groups of tortoises, which are pretty easy to avoid and kill, and spawn by the dozen. In the midst of fields, at night, players should hunt for Red Wolves and Mini Spooky, coming one beside another to enable the players to farm as much XP as possible.
  • Banaan Cave (Level 10 to 15+): In Banaan Cave, Proto Beetle Baller is found in groups, which are also extremely easy to kill and reward tons of experience. Then there’s a spot farther into the cave (taking the northern path) that is a Level 11 Tunoco Lizard spawn. They can farm them and kill them in bulk with one of their AoE skills to achieve max farm speed. To reset points, leave the cave and repeat the process.

Leveling Up Crafting Life

Levelling up Gathering or Combat Lives is much easier than Crafting Lives. The rational way to gain Life XP for these classes would be to amass as many ingredients as one can and craft heaps of things, but since there is a mini game players need to win each time they craft something, it gets in the way. Unless, that is, players are far enough along that they can have auto-crafting enabled. What they ought to do in order to level up all Crafting Lives ahead of time is:

  • Get the materials or purchase them by investing the Dosh obtained from slaying monsters and completing Challenges/Quests.
  • Utilise the crafting mini-game and upgrade the Crafting Life to maximum Fledgling/Apprentice node unlocking, which will lead to Auto-Craft unlock (They usually sit on the top middle branch of skill trees).
  • Utilise auto-craft to maximise efficiency, sell the crafts to regain some Dosh (Gold) and invest in more mats.
  • Every Level Up, use Skill Points on +Exp% Nodes, and repeat.

Players will notice that they will be coming up to Crafting Life levels of 8 to 10 shortly. The next step would be to craft 2-Star recipes that reward even more experience. In order to do this, though, the players will have to go through the mini-game again, then unlock auto-crafting for the next level.
