The Dire Thicket Stash in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is located in an underground area southeast of Dire Thicket in the Lesser Zone. Players can access it either by falling into a hole directly above the stash or by descending a ladder east of the stash. After entering the underground area, players can loot the stash but may be attacked by a swarm of rats. In this article, we will discuss how to kill rat swarms in dusty forgotten loot stash near the dire thicket in Stalker 2 Lesser Zone.
Dusty Forgotten Loot Stash Location
Once you get to the dusty forgotten loot stash location, you will find the concrete underground and a dead body lying there. You can jump and get down but in the process, you will get some fall damage. A few meters from this is another opening which has a ladder in it so that you can get down easily. The location of the second concrete opening is marked below on the map.
Once you get down the ladder the rats may spawn immediately or maybe after some time. But the rat swarm can quickly overwhelm you if ignored, so players should immediately sprint to the ladder on the east side of the underground area and climb it as soon as the rats appear. If you have already looted everything, you can leave the area. However, if there are still items to collect, wait for the rats to gather at the bottom of the ladder, then go to the stone structure. Stay in the area for a bit, and a huge swarm of rats will eventually show up. Toss a grenade into the hole, and it should take out most of them if not all.
You can use a grenade to wipe out the entire rat swarm, letting you climb back down the ladder and collect anything you missed. However, the rats will not be gone for good, so be ready to climb out of the underground area if they return. If you did not manage to loot everything on your second trip, just use another grenade to clear the swarm again. You will still need to deal with the rats before you can reach the stash. Don’t waste any AK rounds – a smaller weapon, like a pistol or a 9mm SMG, will easily take out the rats with a single shot. Once you’re finished, climb the ladder to leave the area.
