What is Hawker Specialization in Dragon’s Dogma 2
With the Hawker specialization, your pawn can purchase items from your inventory once you have reached ‘Overencumbered’ weight status. If you talk to a pawn with this particular specialization, a new chat option will appear where you can sell items. Sometimes the Hawker pawn will even appear before you while setting up camp and offer to buy items from you. You can accept it, and in turn you can sell your items for gold. This is a great way to get rid of items when you are over-encumbered while on the go instead of looking for a vendor.
But the Hawker pawn is very specific on what items it can take from you. Items that are related to quests, weapons, armor, camping kits, and resources like Ferrystones and Wyrmlife Crystals will remain untouched by your pawn. But everything else can be sold, unless you keep an item you want with another pawn’s inventory or storage so it remains untouched.
How to Unlock the Hawker in Dragon’s Dogma 2
The easiest way to get the Hawker specialization is to find a pawn with this requirement while checking out the Rift. But if you wish to change the specialization of your main pawn, you have to complete a small quest. To unlock the Hawker specialization, you need to give 3 gifts to a merchant. But you can’t give just any merchant, you have to locate roaming merchants or ones with the backpack to give them gifts. When you talk to them, an option will appear that says Give Gift. Select it and hand over items of Fancy, Beautiful, or Interesting rarity. You can give them one gift per day, so you have to repeat the process for 3 in-game days. On the fourth day, talk to them to get the Hawker’s Tome. You can now select the Hawker’s Tome and use it on your main pawn
