Keepers of the Glen is among the key seasonal quests in Diablo 4 Season 9, unlocked after completing Bearing the Weight of Ghosts and reaching Tier 3 of the seasonal reputation ladder. Upon unlocking, you should be able to see the quest in your journal, though you may need to manually track it in order to follow up on the goals accordingly.
This quest follows Season 9’s storyline and revolves around the search for another Nightmare Dungeon to retrieve a Blood Relic. The following is how to do it efficiently.
How to Start Keepers of the Glen?

When Tier 3 reputation is achieved:
- Go to Cerrigar and talk to Bryona to start the quest.
- Your goal from here is to locate and enter a Nightmare Dungeon with a Horadric Strongroom.
Entering a Horadric Strongroom
To resume the search, you will need to:
- Activate a Nightmare Dungeon through the use of a Nightmare Sigil.
- Find a dungeon with a Horadric Strongroom modifier.
You are not required to run the entire dungeon but just the Strongroom itself. However, it is recommended that you do the entire dungeon for bonus rewards and to obtain new Nightmare Sigils, which can have other Strongroom spawns.
If you don’t have a sigil with a Strongroom yet, just keep on repeating Nightmare Dungeons—most of them have more sigils, and the chances are likely that you’ll get the modifier you’re seeking.
Clearing the Strongroom and Defeating Pyroclast

You will now need to go into the relevant dungeon and find the Horadric Strongroom. Like the previous strongrooms, the goal is to:
- Enable Altars and Shrines within a time limit.
- Defeat waves of monsters and wait until the boss gets there.
The boss this time is Pyroclast, which is a relatively simple fight to Agony. Pyroclast has one main mechanic, bombing down AOE fire attacks from the air—these are easily avoided by just moving out of the way.
Kill Pyroclast, collect the Blood Relic from the reward chest, and listen to a brief whisper from Astaroth to acquire more lore context. The whisper is optional but adds seasoning to the season’s narrative.
Completing the Quest
When you’ve acquired the Blood Relic, you can:
- Leave the dungeon right away, which completes the quest.
- Or complete the entire Nightmare Dungeon for extra loot and XP.
Either way, acquiring the Blood Relic is what gets the quest moving. The game will then have you do a new rep grind to acquire Horadric Knowledge, which takes us up to the next part of the story: To Walk Where Spirits Tread.
