Destiny 2’s Root of Nightmare raid is no ordinary raid, as there are several puzzles that you need to solve to progress through the stages. Once you have cleared out the first stage and defeated Zo’Aurc, you can now head over to the second encounter zone. This zone is unique, as you have to activate certain nodes in each area. There are no bosses in the Scission Encounter stage, but you will still encounter enemies and untimely death if you don’t solve the puzzle quickly. Here we will see how to complete the Scission Encounter in Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares.

When you and your teammates spawn in the Scission Encounter arena, you will notice two paths, one going off to the left and the other to the right. You can pick either one, and you will notice that there are light nodes on one side and dark nodes on the other, similar to the first encounter level.
Your job is to pick a side and activate the first node by shooting at it, then hop across and shoot the same light or dark node on the other side. In between the gap, there is a catalyst that you need to activate as well to ferry the beam between the two nodes.
Whenever you hit a light node or dark node, you will also receive a buff. You can get either the Field of the Light buff from the light nodes or Flux of Darkness from the dark nodes. These will help you defeat the enemies that spawn on your level. If you are on the dark node level, you will get the Flux of Darkness buff that will help you defeat the enemies having the darkness shield. The same applies to the opposite side with the light nodes as well.
The best way to organize your team is to split into groups of three. Out of the three, one player should juggle between activating the nodes, while the other two should be in charge of adding clearing. Any AoE weapon will be suitable here. Also, you need to activate the nodes before the timer on the left side of the screen goes to zero, otherwise, your entire team will be pushed to their deaths.
Once you have cleared the first level and activated all the light and dark nodes, you need to head over to the next level and repeat the process. Do this a few more times till you meet two mini-bosses, and defeat them to clear the raid.
