To start the task, you need to identify the ghost first. Once you are in a match, use the evidence report to check which ghost you are going against and select it. If in multiplayer, you and your teammates need to select the same ghost for this to work. After that, you need to match the ghost’s silhouette with the evidence. You can find the silhouette while exploring the abandoned house, just keep an eye out for the white or transparent figure in any of the rooms. You need to ensure that the silhouette and the evidence match, or else the ghost will not appear to blow out the candle.
Now all that is left is to place the lit candle in the middle of the room. It doesn’t matter where you place it, and if you guessed the ghost correctly, it will follow you. You can even use the EMF Reader to find an area with a high ghostly presence and drop the candle there. It is preferred to place the candle on the floor instead of on any object. You will know you can place the candle when you spot a green circle.
After that, you can either leave the room or wait for the ghost to appear and do its thing. You should keep an eye on your sanity, and if you think it is getting too low, you can always go to another room. You will be notified if the ghost has blown out the candle, so you don’t need to be in the same room as them for this.
