The Cryogenic Canal is one of the most formidable and rewarding regions in FISCH, for those working the Northern Expedition Bestiary above all. A very challenging stretch of water characterized by tough conditions for fishing in general, while also having different species of fish to catch from the bestiary. Proper preparation with a Winter Cloak or oxygen tanks will always be helpful at such a moment.
Essential Items for Cryogenic Canal
For fishing in the harsh environment of the Northern Summit, you will need more than just your fishing rod and bait. You will need a few essential items like a winter cloak. This item will help keep your temperature bar high. You can buy the Winter Cloak at Camps 3 and 5 for 7,500C$.
Another item you need are oxygen tank. These provide extra oxygen, allowing you to explore further and fish for longer periods before needing a refill. Oxygen tanks are available at nearly every camp, with prices varying depending on the type. There are four options: basic, beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The cheapest starts at 1,000C$, while the most expensive costs 25,000C$.
Once you have gathered these supplies, you are ready to start fishing. However, completing the Northern Expedition Bestiary won’t be easy, as it’s split into four smaller bestiaries, each tied to a specific fishing location.
Cryogenic Canal Location
As you advance through the Northern Expedition, you’ll gradually complete the bestiary for each location you explore. The first waypoint on your route is Overgrowth Caves, followed by Frigid Cavern. After completing the previous bestiary, get ready to spend a lot of time in the Cryogenic Canal. You will need to catch ten different fish in this area. The season to catch these fish is winter. You can catch them at any weather except for the Aurora Trout. You need clear weather to catch Aurora Trout.
