Cloudclutch Serpent is one of the World Bosses you can face in Where Winds Meet. The fight is fairly manageable if you keep your distance and learn when to avoid its poison attacks. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find Cloudclutch Serpent, which weapons and Arts to use, how to defeat it, and what rewards you get for winning.
Cloudclutch Serpent Location

The Cloudclutch Serpent world boss can be found in the Hidden Mountain, Suixiang area. In order to start the battle, you have to go to the easternmost island where you will find a Curious Mechanical Cauldron. Interact with it to trigger the Cloudclutch Serpent encounter.
Recommended Weapons and Arts
For this fight, these Arts work well and give you a good mix of damage and utility.
- Martial Arts: Heavenwill Gauntlets, Skygrasp Rope Dart, Snowparting Blade, and Panacea Fan
- Mystic Arts: Flute of the Tides and Dragon’s Breath
The Cloud Clutch Serpent is a relatively slow boss that can be dealt with safely because of its slow speed. The Vernal Umbrella and the Thundercry Blade will make great weapons for the battle against this boss.
How to Beat Cloudclutch Serpent

The biggest attack you need to watch out for is the poison volley. The explosions are hard to block, so it is better to use the shield of the Thundercry Blade in advance before the volley hits.
Serpent usually uses the poison volley near the start of the fight and then uses it again roughly a minute later. When you see the boss take its usual stance, be ready to move because the second volley is coming. For most of the fight, simply keep running around the arena and attack Serpent from the air. Many of its attacks won’t reach you while you’re fighting from a distance.
If the Serpent gets too close to you and pins you to a wall, stop using the target lock and just run away to make some space between you and the monster. The red dash is one of those moves that you should parry if possible, because once you parry this move, the Serpent falls on the ground.
Then, you have a chance to hit it without taking any damage. During the Golden Glint Attack of the Cloudclutch Serpent, a cloud appears in the arena that starts raining poison. Try not to be caught by it and not to get cornered.
You should try to stay near the middle of the arena. Most of the attacks of the Cloudclutch Serpent involve a wide range, which means that if you get cornered or stuck near the walls of the arena, it will be extremely difficult for you to dodge.
