Genshin Impact Version 3.1 opened up the Desert region of Sumeru and with a new region comes new Daily Commissions in the area. One of these daily commissions is deceptively simple but particularly tricky. It has even been called the hardest Sumeru Daily Commission. This guide will walk you through this annoying commission you often encounter in the Desert region.
Chasing the Weasel Thief Guide in Genshin Impact 3.1
The commission initially feels like the Hammer the Mushroom commission where holes pop up in the ground and you may be inclined to hit the weasel from whatever hole he pops out of.
The commission asks you to chase the weasel only twice and yet hitting the weasel does not increase your count. Chasing the sand trails also does not give you a count. When you interact with the burrow holes and the weasel pops out of the one you chose, your count increases.
The commission is certainly time-consuming and confusing but it’s still doable. Once you hit the weasel, he goes back underground and you’ll notice sand trails from all the burrowed holes. You’ll have to keenly follow the one that originated from the weasel’s position and try your best to keep track of it. When the burrows pop out again, provided you followed the trails successfully, the weasel should pop up on the burrow hole you chose.
If not, it should at least be nearby. Most of the time it’s a miss because the sand trails don’t leave a mark to follow and are simply just trails of dry dusty sand. The trick is to not move around much but zoom out your camera view to closely follow the trails and just stay close. When your character moves around, the constant change in camera angles easily makes you lose sight of the trail so it’s easier to just slay close and move as less as possible. Correctly guessing which hole the weasel will pop out of twice completes the commission.
Many players have complained that the commission is flawed and needs a rework. We’ll have to wait for Version 3.2 to drop or wait for the Beta leaks of Version 3.3 to know if the devs of Genshin are addressing this problematic commission.
