The First Descendant is an action packed shooter with tons of unique features and gameplay materials. You can unlock new Descendants and use them to complete quests, defeat bosses, and make supply runs. Unfortunately, subtitles cannot be disabled while playing The First Descendant. This is a permanent feature of the game and there is no disable option as of yet. It is unclear whether there will be an option to disable subtitles later on, as for now they do appear during cutscenes or speeches. Hopefully later on this issue will be taken into consideration and the devs can work on adding a disabling subtitles option
If the subtitles seem bothersome, the only way you can avoid them is to skip the dialogue. That is the only function that works as of now, but in the process you might miss some important info or the cutscenes.
