In Genshin Impact, gadgets are special tools or items that provide various functionalities to aid players during their adventures in Teyvat. These gadgets can be obtained through quests, events, the in-game shop, or as rewards for certain achievements. Gadgets serve a variety of purposes, offering convenience, exploration assistance, or combat support.
Version 3.7 finally introduced a feature long-demanded by the player base- a way to switch between their most-used gadgets. Previously, the gadget slot could only hold one gadget and it used to be a hassle to switch to another from the main inventory menu. With the latest feature, players can slot up to 4 gadgets into the gadget slot and quickly switch between them when the need arises. In this article, we will list the best gadgets to use in these 4 slots.
Most Functional Gadgets in Genshin Impact
In this list, we won’t be considering leisure gadgets such as the Kamera or various musical instruments. We also won’t be considering quest-specific gadgets such as the ones used for Aranara or Desert quests since these have limited functionality and are only relevant in their given areas.
Most of the following gadgets come in the form of blueprints which need to be forged into the gadget itself with the necessary materials. Most of these blueprints are available from Reputation Rewards in each nation. In the following list, we will be looking at some general gadgets that come in handy in all scenarios.
- NRE (Menu 30): This is arguably the most used gadget since the beginning of the game as it allows players to consume healing and revival dishes on the go at the touch of a finger. You can slot in HP Recovery and Revival dishes into two slots and consume them whenever the need arises in battle or just even in general. The blueprint for this gadget can be obtained by reaching Reputation Level 5 in Mondstadt.
- Red Feather Fan: This one allows you to drastically increase your gliding speed for a certain duration. Since overworld exploration is a major part of Teyvat’s exploration this is a very handy gadget. In the words of the Anemo Archon Venti himself- “wouldn’t gliding be faster?” the answer was always debatable. Gliding was always more convenient but with this gadget, it definitely got faster. This gadget can be obtained by reaching Reputation Level 5 in Inazuma.
- Elemental Treasure Compasses: These are region-specific gadgets you can use in each of the nations of Teyvat the Travelers have explored so far. These Treasure compasses hint towards nearby treasure and can especially come in handy when you’re trying to get 100% exploration of a certain region. Till now we have Anemo, Geo, Electro and Dendro Treasure Compasses and the blueprints for these can be obtained as Reputation Rewards from their respective regions.
- Oculus Resonance Stones: Just like the treasure compasses, these are region-specific gadgets that will help you locate nearby Oculus and are best used when you’ve almost collected all Oculi in the nation save a few which you missed and couldn’t locate. Unlike the ones above, however, these are consumable gadgets that function on a one-time use basis. If the stone resonates with a nearby Oculus then it will be consumed else you can hold on to it until it does. The blueprints for these are also available as Reputation Rewards from their respective regions.
- The Boon of the Elder Tree: This gadget is for all those who are avid enjoyers of the Serenitea Pot. This gadget allows you to collect various wood in a certain radius around your character thus making wood farming easier. This gadget is available after reaching Reputation Level 3 in Sumeru.
- Wind Catcher: Another exploration gadget, this one allows you to collect Anemograna in your journey and use them to create upward drafts of wind to glide up when the need arises. You can only store up to 5 Anemogranas here and they need to be recollected when all the charges are spent. You can get the blueprint for this one by reaching Reputation Level 3 in Mondstadt.
- Seed Dispensary: This is another gadget for the Serenitea Pot enjoyers as it allows you to collect the respective seeds of the fruits and flowers you collect in your exploration. You can get this gadget from Madame Ping after you’ve unlocked your Serenitea Pot.
- Adepti Seeker’s Stove: In our final entry, we have another consumable gadget and this one allows you to deploy a cooking stove wherever you are as long as you’re not in combat. It’s a one-time use temporary stove allowing you to cook dishes in a jiffy when there are no stoves or cooking pots nearby. The blueprint for this one is available after reaching Reputation Level 5 in Liyue.
Of the above gadgets, the first two are a must-have for any adventurer. Personally, for the other two slots we recommend the Treasure compasses and Oculi resonance stones depending on your current region of exploration and quests. Avid Serenitea Pot users will enjoy the Boon of the Elder Tree best.
These gadgets, among others, offer additional utility and enhance the overall gameplay experience in Genshin Impact. They can be equipped in the gadget slot of the character’s inventory and used as needed to assist with specific tasks or challenges encountered throughout the game.
Functionality aside, Genshin Impact is a game of aesthetic and beauty and for those who are in it for the vibe and sceneries, they can use the Kamera to take some beautiful screenshots. If you’re a musician, you’ll also enjoy the occasional Lyre. If you’re not a gadget user in general then you can just slot in your favourite companions too.
