With all the new updates and the new artifact domains, character builds have changed over the years for many of the first 5-star characters. Mona Megistus is our resident Mondstadt astrologist who’s always in need of money and has tagged along with our rag-tag group this summer for a vacation in the 2.8 Golden Apple Archipelago- Summer Odyssey.
Mona is a 5-star Hydro catalyst user and she’s one of the standard banner 5-stars. Unlike poor Qiqi however, she’s a much-desired character by many for her versatility on the battlefield. She’s considered an excellent support for your party’s dps due to her fast and strong Hydro application which enables your dps to cause Hydro-based reactions.
Mona’s Best Artifacts in Genshin Impact
The most useful part of Mona’s kit is her burst which not only does a ton of damage but also marks an enemy with her “Omen” which causes them to take increased damage from your other characters. Her elemental skill is her second-most useful ability due to its continuous Hydro application to nearby enemies and drawing their attention away from the battlefield. Below, some of her best artifacts are discussed:
Emblem of the Severed Fate
This is the best-in-slot artifact set for Mona as it allows her to spam her burst in rotations without wasting time doing her E and normals to get energy. Even though her burst has an average cost of 60, the Emblem set gives her ER by flat 20% in its 2-piece set and when ER stats are stacked from her artifact main-stats and substats, in its 4-piece set this can boost her burst damage by a scary 50%.
One of her passive talents also boosts her Hydro DMG bonus by a maximum of 20% based on her ER percentage. This set makes Mona an ideal and reliable support and sub-dps for your whole party.
Noblesse Oblige
If you’re strictly looking for a support Mona who boosts elemental reactions and buffs your teammates, then we suggest going for the Noblesse Oblige set. This set works best if you have Anemo characters in the party who can group and swirl your Hydro damage from your burst and skill. This also gives the other members in your party a 30% ATK buff which is very valuable and significant.
Heart of Depth
If you’re instead strictly building an on-field dps Mona then this artifact set is the way to go. The Hydro damage bonus, coupled with the buff to hydro reactions make this an excellent set for a Hydro dps catalyst character. You can even pair the 2pc set of this with a 2pc of another set based on your stats and substats.
Overall, we’ve noticed that giving Mona EM or attack on one artifact increases her own damage but reduces her support function. That’s why our personal recommendation is the Emblem set as it buffs her as well as supports the team with only an insignificant reduction in overall damage.
