RPGs are one of the most popular gaming genres of recent times, and players love playing RPGs because of the compact storyline and challenging fights. However, there’s another unique reason why RPGs have become so popular: the decision-making feature. Players sometimes need to make decisions and decide their fate. In Baldur’s Gate 3, players must make decisions to progress through the game. Killing the Owlbear or not is one of these decisions in the game.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Choice Guide- Killing the Owlbear or Not
If you have played RPGs before, you are aware that these games have multiple activities to complete, including making choices. Sometimes these choices bring fatal consequences; otherwise, they don’t have much impact on the gameplay. The more you go through these games, the more choices will come, and without solving them, you can’t progress forward. Baldur’s Gate 3 is the same. From the prologue section, this game presents players with choices.

The Owlbear will be found wounded while exploring the west side of Druid Grove. Once you encounter the creature, you have two options: kill it or leave it. No matter what you choose, the outcome will be the same. If you slay the creature yourself, you will get XP and other rewards. Though not very impressive, these rewards still help them level up.
However, if you choose not to slay the Owlbear and leave it, the Goblins will kill it and steal its Cub. After the Long Rest is performed, the Goblons kill the Owlbear, and players will get the chance to search its body and nest for valuable items.
Also, whatever you choose, you must leave the Cub as later you have to rescue it from the Goblin’s Camp and bring it to your camp. In both cases, the Goblin will steal it, and you must save it.
That’s all you need to know about whether to kill the Owlbear or not. This choice doesn’t affect the gameplay. So, players can choose whatever they want.
