Jagged Alliance 3 has a few quests that will help you understand how townsfolk survive in Grand Chein. While you interact with the NPCs, you can pick up tasks to help them out. Father Tooker gives out quests in Fleatown La Bou. He will tell you about a ghost haunting his church, and how he wishes there was some way to get rid of it. Visit Fleatown (H8) and talk to Father Tooker. He will guide you to the location where you have to get rid of the ghost. Head over to the jungle in I10 and get rid of any enemies lurking around the area. Once the area is cleared, make your way to the dock and you will spot a magnifying icon on the ground in front of the boat. After investigating the drawing, press O for overview mode of the area. You will spot three ambush points around the three exits. You have to send one merc to each exit point.
If done correctly, the ghost will appear at the north exit and attack. Defeat the ghost to get a map as a drop. You now have two options.
- Go to Father Tooker: You can hand over the map and talk about a hidden treasure, earning you XP and 20 Fleatown Loyalty. Or you can keep quiet about the map and get 5 Fleatown loyalty
- Go to the Statue: Follow the map and visit the statue inside the church directly without Father Tooker’s knowledge
Whichever option you pick, you can go towards the statue on the right side of the church to investigate it. Father Tooker will be weary of your activities, so when you approach the statue he will know something is up. You have a bunch of options here as well.
- We’re getting evidence – If you have Fox on your team or the Scoundrel perk, you can bypass Father Tooker and get the artifact
- It’s ours now – Lose 5 Fleatown loyalty but gain the artifact
- Here, it’s yours – Gain 15 Fleatown loyalty but lose the artifact to Father Tooker
